I want to share with you a brilliant column I was tipped off on by @BrandonWentland at Optimal Digital Marketing (link to the column will be at the bottom of this post). It came from a conversation we had where I shared one of the credos I hold dear in my business career, best summed up as “you never know”.

“You never know” (YNK) means you should say “yes”, because you never know where a yes will lead. (I can’t say this any better than this guy did.)
YNK means that your success to date is a function of earlier moments when you said yes.
YNK acknowledges that the world is changing rapidly. YNK embraces that fact. It helps you remember that you can’t predict what’s going to happen.
YNK means you should pick up the phone and call someone to introduce yourself. To invite them to lunch. To reconnect. To ask them a question. Very few people do this, but successful people do it more often than everyone else. Sure it’s hard, but….you never know.
Here’s the column I referenced at the beginning of this post. It shows what how YNK can lead to an opinion piece in the NY Times.
Good luck!
